DEER HUNTING 101: The Beginner's Guide to Deer Hunting

Dear Mr. Pruet:

I am the father of an 8 year old son and a 3.5 year old daughter.  For reasons unknown to me, my son (when he was 4 or 5) began asking me to take him hunting.  The perplexing aspect of this inquiry was that I had not been hunting of any kind since my high school days (I'm now 39).  In any event, my son and I, along with my younger brother who is an "avid" outdoorsman, took up hunting Whitetail and Turkey.  Despite what is to follow in this email, being out in the woods with my son, Zac, has created some of the fondest memories I have with my son, and I can only hope he feels the same.

The first 2 years in the woods for Turkey let me know how little I knew about hunting turkeys - i.e., we have yet to bag our first Turkey as they have convincingly established they are, or at least have been, much smarter than us!  Our first year in the woods for Whitetail was, well, too easy in that my brother and I each had a deer (him a very nice 10 pt buck, and me a nice doe) within the first hour of opening day, only to go deer-less the next season.

So, I figured I had better educate myself.  I recently purchased one of your books, Deer Hunting 101, and I am about done. My son, Zac, is also reading it with me and he, too, loves it.  It is a terrific book and I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge.  I looked on your website and saw that you have another book in which I have great interest, Turkey Hunting 101.  I have, however, been unable to find this book on-line for purchase.  Do you have any suggestions?

Again, thank you much for sharing your knowledge with me and I presume many others.  Your book has been a tremendous help to me, and it has facilitated a passion my son and I have in common, which continues to grow with each trip to the woods.
